On September 26 and 27, the NEIS Conference took place in Hamburg as a hybrid event with virtual and face-to-face attendance. The conference provided a forum for scientists to discuss the most critical aspects of a sustainable energy system, focusing on methods and practical approaches for energy system planning and management.

Our Chair of Electrical Energy Systems was also represented with three contributions:

Ilya Burlakin gave a presentation on „Dynamic Modelling of Transmission Systems based on Primary Energy Systems“ in the Power Systems Operation and Control session. Afterward, Bernd Schweinshaut presented the results of his work „Transformation, Comparison and Co-Simulation of an RMS-EMT Multi-Domain Test Network“ to the expert audience. Finally, on the second day, Florian Mahr presented „Integrated Energy Management Concept for Residential Areas using Energy Packages“ in the Smart and Future Grids session. The submitted papers will be published by VDE-Verlag and in the IEEE Xplore database.

In addition to other exciting presentations and keynote speakers Prof. Dr. Henrik Lund from Aalborg University and Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Hatziargyriou from the National Technical University of Athens, the conference provided space for professional exchange. The 10th anniversary of the NEIS conference was celebrated with a barbecue dinner and a magic show.

We thank the organizers for a successful conference and look forward to next year.
